| A SHORT HISTORY of L.O.L No'5 The original warrent was issued at the formation of the Grand Lodge of British America in the year of 1830. Although there are records of meetings prior to this date. The Peel Archives holds a print of the first Orange Parade from Grahamsville (Peel County) to York in 1812. Loyal Orange Lodge # 5 amalgamated with Loyal Orange Lodge # 10 Brampton, to form Loyal Orange Lodge # 3174. The present warrent was re-issued to Loyal Orange Lodge # 5 in 1945. After going through a lean time in the 1970's and the 1980's the lodge now has a membership of more than 60, and has produced numerous Peel County Masters and Officers. If you would like more information regarding the history of the Loyal Orange Association in the Peel County area, i highly recommend reading this book: From the Boyne to Brampton. This is one of the few books that can be read online at the Peel online digital archives |
